In a decade after its establishment in 2007, Telin has expanded its business to become the largest information and telecommunication company in Indonesia.
Through its 54 points of presence worldwide, 164,510 km cable length, 11 global offices, as well as three carrier neutral data centers, which are located in Singapore, Telin has successfully strengthened its presence as an international telecommunications player.
As one of the highlighted achievements during the year, Telin made a major move by acquiring 70 percent stake in Malaysian largest satellite provider, TS Global Network. TSGN is the largest provider for very small aperture terminal or VSAT services, a satellite communications system for home and business users in Malaysia.
Telin also owns World Hub Operation & Command Center, which enables Telin to have a better service surveillance to supervise across devices and instruments of production as its efforts to strengthen its infrastructure deployment and increase its points of presence.
Telin awarded as Regional Operator of the Year by GCCM in an awarding ceremony organized by Carrier Community in Berlin, Germany. It also won Carriers World Awards for Best Wholesale Carrier Regional in London for the third time for three years in a row. The last award that Telin won in 2017 was the Indonesian Champion for ASEAN 2017 in telecommunication sector, which was held in Jakarta.
Another milestone that Telin has made in 2017 was organizing the Bali Annual Telkom International Conference (BATIC) 2017 that the company has been hosting for almost a decade. BATIC serves as a place for market update exchange and conference with 300 participants from 122 companies worldwide in attendance, talked about disruptive collaboration and digital business.
Telin’s Indonesia Global Gateway (IGG) cable system serves as the backbone that provides direct connection to global west and east gateway. The IGG cable system creates a network hub that connects Europe, Asia, and United States. Telin has also successfully launched the SEA-ME-WE-5 undersea cable that connects Singapore and Marseilles in France. With the recent launch of SEA-US and IGG that connects the network to the United States, Telin has been able to improve its service by giving an alternative route that avoids hazardous areas, such as Luzon Strait.
